World Clock / Health Clock
Each year: nearly 60 million people die. Of those nearly 17.9 million die from cardiovascular disease, 8.7 million from cancers, and 3.2 million from lower respiratory infection. 14 million develop cancer each year, 200 million contract malaria, and 2 million people will be infected by HIV. The numbers are so big they lose their significance. Allow me to give some perspective. Let's say you are walking through a busy mall with 1000 other shoppers. Look around at the faces. Odds are that 3 of those 1000 people will die of heart disease this year. 2 will contract some form of cancer, and one of those shoppers will die of cancer this year. Life is short and precious. Don't take it for granted.
